Vocational Excellence Award was conferred on Mr.Jairam, a visually challenged Chartered Accountant and Carnatic Musician. Mr.Jairam was the second visually challenged person to qualify as CA in the whole country. He cleared the exam in the very first attempt. He is also a talented vocalist, having many concerts, awards and recognitions to his credit. The award and the citation was presented to Mr.Jairam by DGE. Rtn.Venkatesh. Mr.Jairam was felicitated by his teacher, colleagues and Rtn.Ravishankar, Dist. Chairman for Vocational Services.
Career Guidance Seminar

A Career Guidance Seminar was held at P.S.Senior Secondary School,Mylapore for the students of 11th Standard. The uniqueness of the programme was ,all the spakers were the Alumini of the school. Normally Career Guidance Seminars are organized at schools and colleges. For the first time, our club took the initiative of organizing such a seminar at the Government ITI, Guindy on 25^th October 2006. There were more than 300 apprentices, actively listening to the various experts from the fields taking about the opportunities in their respective fields. From our club, Rtn. Mansoor and his friend Mr.Ganesh presented about opportunities for the Air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanics. Rtn. Shivkumar talked about the Desk Top Publication. President A.V.Srinivasan elaborated the future options for the Consumer Electronic mechanics. Mr.Eswaran from Savera Hotel presented about the Hotel Management choices. The principal and the students were extremely happy about this valuable session. Vocational Service Director Rtn.Narayanan introduced all the speakers. Youth Service Director Rtn.P.Sridhar was also present and gave some impressive advice to the students on how to succeed in life.
